Well went fishing of the New Port Pier, tried shrimp from Santa Monica Seafood, nibbles, sand bugs dug up from the sand ( whatever you call em I dunno) more nibbles, pieces of mackerel gleaned of the other fishermen at the end of the pier more nibbles, did see a med size bat ray, used to see a lot more. sorry to say the only thing I caught was a clump of seaweed and a buzz while checking out the beer bars close to the parking lot. Anyone had any experience with either the San Diego Boat Club or the Outerbanks Boat Club in San Diego? Essentially, if you join the club you have access to their boats for a year. The boats, according to their websites, are respectable fishing rigs ranging from 18' center console out boards to 25' cutty cabins. Wassup! So my buddy Gregg always raves about bay/harbor fishing in Huntington. I generally don't see how fishing can be good in a dirty bay...
