Has anyone looked into a PLB like the ResQFix vs. an EPIRB...  I understand the basic differences but the farthest i go is San Clemente island,  There is a $500 cost difference between the 2, and yes I am cheap, but I cannot get ACR to tell me I'll be ok with just a PLB.  

With this shitty economy and my job on the line everyday $500 is a lot of cash.  

Does any one have either??  Hopefully never had to use it of course..
