ive been SUPER busy but managed another mako trip up in your neck of the woods. it was an banner day on the large makos. it started with a smallish fish. we watched it swim around for awhile, and it came and went as it pleased. around 1:00 or so an estimated 500lber showed. it took the bait only to drop it after a short time.

we motored back to our slick and collected the buckets. the mako came back and bill put the wood to it in short order.

it came to the boat for a picture but it never did the acrobatics we hoped for.

hustler, the leader man did a great job and got the hook back from this fat boy.

brought to leader and released. back on the slick, it wasent long before another large mako showed. estimates from capt. jack was 700-800lbs. lucky me as i was called to bat. it was like deja vue(however you spell that). the fish took the bait only to drop it. and, back to the slick we went. we got thrown a curve ball!!!!!!!!! another bait went out and it got picked up!!! surprise!!!!!!!! where did that blue come from????? we cut the leader on the 150 ish blue and back to the slick we went. we had baits comming and going for the next 20 minutes. i finally got picked up on the balloon way back and it was game on with the right fish. unfortunately he pulled the hook after 20 minutes and our day was over. the crew got some picks of the blue and were ready with the TAT card but it was not to be for me this time. ill try again asap.
