And I don’t mean just me on the boat. Took off to Dana point solo to try for the T’s that are a little larger than what I have been getting. Sun comes up with the south wind blowing strong, popcorn everywhere on the surface. I really dislike the south wind. Macks were easy to make by the red buoy. I really like my new chum maker, more on that later. Water is 67 to 69 degrees. Poked around a little , but the birds were not up. Headed down the line and started trolling. Get a knockdown real quick, hooked up , but its not fighting real hard. Get it to the boat and bounce it in. 30 pound baby mako. Took the photos and released it unharmed. Any bigger and I would not have brought it in the boat solo, they cause more havoc on a deck than any 2 large Halibut. At least it smiled for the pictures. So much for the bigger models. Trolled all the rest of the morning till noon for one more small Halibut on the bounceball gear. Wind was still blowing when I left. When it blows from the south, the fish shut their mouth. Better than mowin the lawn.
