Met up with backlash and Doper4Life in Los Alamitos to try for some more T-Doggs.  Had gotten word from a friend (BankRobber) of another area that may be holding a few fish.  Since I already knew the harbor area was pretty much dead, don’t ask, I figured that it was not a far run, so let’s go take a look see. I also knew that the boats of friends, Silver Ghost, and later found out Spark, on the water would not be expecting me to go to the area, that they would have figured me for the harbor. We started working the area, saw some life, water temp 62* but very clean. First bite was on the BounceBall rig, a quick hitter peeled line and bit the hooch and hooks off. This would be a theme for a while. Finally after each of us lost a hook up one way or another, I get a small one to the boat. Perfect for the points and release.

After this it seemed like we could do no wrong as far as getting bit, but were still having a hard time bringing them in the boat for pictures. Got a message from Spark that he was in the Harbor. I told him where we were and that we were 2 for 6 or something like that.  Also called Silver Ghost since I knew he was close but had no idea we were.  By the time they showed up we had another fish photo’d and released for Doper4Life

Spark told me he had a Sweetwater striper fisherman on board who had one important question.”Did you remember the frozen ‘Chovies?” Oh that’s crackin me up still.  We ended up going 5 fish in the boat for 13 hook ups. Poor percentages, but a lot of fun on the light line. BackLash landed 1, Doper4Life landed 2 and I also got 2. Great day on the water with a lot of friends around to see some chaos.

Oh yeah, I also got a sandbass on the BounceBall rig. I must learn to rotate again

Thanks for the call in B.

Finally got ours too so the stink was off the boat thanks to you.(see Hells_Angler's post). And for lending us some more gear after the sailboat came by within 35' of us and took all of lines we had out. Good seeing Spark and Dean out there. Good times with good friends on the boat and in the area!

TEAM WORK HELPS!

Thanks,
