Went out Saturday morning with the Silver Ghost and another fishing buddy Mikey. Launched about5am and baited up on some squid and monster size sardines from Nacho. Headed out to our favorite local reefs for some bass action. Was expecting choppy and windy conditions from latest forecasts but instead found the water to be flat and glassy with no wind at all, water was 64.5 to 65 degrees.

After dropping on some of our best producing spots for nothing we decide to hunt around on some rock piles we haven't fished this year at all. Had little to no drift but right about the bottom of the tide Silver Ghost and I both get our lines stuck on the rock pile. Before we can get our lines loose the bite goes wild. Mikey and I start getting ripped by quality size sand bass and Ghost keeps getting BIG hits but loses the fish. Well we decide to leave the lines snagged on the bottom and with no breeze it provides a decent anchor to the hot spot. We sat on this spot for a couple of hours and ended up with a pile of sandies and a few calicos. Jackpot bass a 5.5 lb 21” calico caught by Mikey. Even after awhile the Ghost gets the stink off and starts slamming some good sandies.

The bite dies down some we get a call from Berzerker on the hot T-shark bite (thanks again). We headed down and trolled for hours and nothing. We knew they were there cause about every 10 mins (it seems) you could look over at Berzerker's boat and see one of them bent over with another T. Also saw Spark out there too. After awhile the wind finally arrives and everyone leaves we are start drifting and chumming. While I'm down cleaning our bass catch our Thresher rig starts singing. After a 10 min fight we land our first thresher of the year. No shark release for us today. This guy was split up among us and is now residing in a nice spot in my freezer. All in all a very good day with friends.

And here's the Jackpot bass caught and released by Mikey.

Thanks Jay. Good being out there together with friends for some good fishing! Everyone had a good day. Bezerker had a GREAT day. Fun seeing all his hook ups! Probably wouldn't have gotten the T-dog without the B man calling us in and giving us some more gear to use after the sailboat cut all of our gear! Good seeing Spark and Bankrobber out there too!

Thanks,

Nice job on the bass points, we have had close incounters with the sail boat fleet also. Nice recovery getting the thresher.
