Headed out Saturday for a local trip with Silver Ghost and our periodic fishing buddy Mike. Found the water to be nice and flat in the harbor early morning. Baited up at LB Bait and started out to some local bass spots. Had some issues with the Ghost's boat. The motor wouldn't go past 1800 rpm, so we are limited to a top speed of 9mph.
An error code in the engine's computer is the only solution we could think of. Last week this boat was running like a champ. Only a trip to the mechanic's shop will get the truth on this mystery.
Well after a nice long cruise to our spot we set up for a couple of drifts. Wind starts blowing and we find our drift too fast. No bites just an random nibble once in a while.
We head back in (at 9mph) and fish the inside of the wall. Water is very dirty and the fish are not interested in anything. So we head inside to try our luck at some T-sharks.
Drifting inside we go 1 for 3 on sharks. First one takes the bait and runs. Mike sets the hook and instantly is broken off. His braided like broke must have been a bad spot in his line. Next I see my rod getting slapped around. Play out a little line and within a few seconds he's running with my bait. Set the hook and after a short fight we bring this little guy on board for a quick photo shoot and release.

Due to the wind I needed some help with my TAT card so the Silver Ghost helped me out.
After we reset in our chum line Mikey get hammered HARD. Good hook set and he's on with a monster. The fish make a quick run and then jumps completely out of the water. And it's a biggie estimated to be 6ft without the tail. This fish is yanking Mike around almost pulling him overboard at one point but he stick's it out. The fish make's a hard run at the boat and get's popped off. Mike reels in his line and finds his 7/0 owner hook
straitened out.

Couple more drifts for nothing and we decide to call it a day.
Water was all stirred up from the wind. Lot's of red tide inside and outside the harbor. Cold water 62-63 if I remember right.
