Went out solo on Saturday with some of the guys after having hurt my left thumb putting the boat on the trailer Friday. Got it caught in the trailers boats starap winch while I had my eyes on the vechicle next to us sliding around on the low tide launch ramp. I got 4 Halibut that were 25", 29", 30" and 38". It was a fine day on the water with friends, I only bumped the thumb about 10,000 times (Aaargggggggh!@&!!!) while not keeping it dry per Doctors orders. Halibut slime and squid juice dont count in my mind. One fish, the 30 incher had an interesting bottom side, probably not as rare around San Onofre as here, I asked Spark to hold it for a photo opp.

I have seen a few with variations of this coloring.
Heres the 38 inch fish along with the rest.
