Met up with Ofer to try again. Got some bait from Nacho and started. We only had 1 bite that was a short, noticed another member working an area close by very hard. Figured that Silver Ghost had someything going on there so we moved to another area and put the rigs in. Soon Ofer wwas on the right one, he eased her up to the boat witout much of a fight but as soon as the gaff was in the water the fish ran at it and tangled with it. Ofer was able to keep the fish on the line for a second chance at the gaff, but it was a savvy fish and tried the same crazy move again. I have not yet swung at the girl yet and got out of her way as she made a screaming run under the boat to the other side deep. Ofer did not panic, worked her back up, the gaff stuck home and he was rewarded with a 38 inch, 25 lb'r.

 

We continued to work while hearing of better success from Silver Ghost and his new best crew.Ofer got another to the boat that went 27 inches then I finally found the right one that was almost 30 inches. Another great start to a new year with friends.
