With my usual fishing buddy's not able to go on Sat 2-04-2012.
Berzerker set me up with Danny "Game over".
After a quick briefing about the boat and all safety equipment locations.
We set out just before sun rise.

By the time we reached the end of the harbor jetty,
I felt very confident in my new quest Danny,
like i have known him for years already.
After picking up another healthy pass of squid
from Nacho. we take a short ride to the first location.
and set out the gear.
Much to our surprise ,there was not to much action in the am
out going tide.
We did manage to scratch up some by catch like tom code ,lizards and sculpin and
even a nice sized flounder.
Did I mention the word SLOW!

It is now maybe an hour or more before the tide bottoms out.
I tell  Danny , its time to make a move and the boat is yours.
So with Danny at the wheel and at 1 of his go to spots he tells me
that this area usually  produces  23"to 25"halibut.
Within a few minutes i am bit and bring up the right kind.
Danny bounced up our first halibut and she goes 23"
After a quick high five its decision time. "live or die" ?
Both of us agree let her grow.
Forgot to take a picture ( Whooops # 1 )

Now we are back to work and Danny gets bit by the right kind and
up comes a nice sized shorty going 21" .
At last we are getting some kind of action.
After a few more by catch of sculpin and lizards .
the tide is flat and its a good time to relocate again.

I mentioned to Danny that i had a gut feeling about the green buoy
area and he responds lets go with it.
As we pass the green buoy my rod gets a lil twitch so i pick it up and let it
slide a little then set the hook. Up comes another shorty.

Now with Danny at the wheel again, he picks a line and stays on it.
"Boom "my rod goes off again with some quality shakes,
I am thinking a little bit better fish this time.
As Danny bounces the fish up for me , we noticed its goofy hooked
near the gill plate which made it feel a little heavier.
After a quick measure this 1 is also 23"
Another life or death decision results in letting it grow!
Forgot to take a picture again. ( Whooops # 2 )

Within 5 minutes i am hooked up again.
And Danny bounces another 23" on board for me.
Decision is made yet again, let it grow!!!
Forgot to take picture again, ( Whoops # 3 )
Its now getting time to head back to the ramp..
with the total fish count for the slow day
3 shortys
3 keepers ( released )
1 flounder
1 sculpin
1 tom cod
and a few lizards

All in all it was another great day on the water with friends.
A few fish , a few laughs, and some socal. type weather .
And Danny "Game Over"
We gotta hook up again !

Feeling bad about forgetting the pictures,
I will add 1 from Thurs. solo mission.
Which ended up as a gift to Nacho.. 28 "
Always take care of the ones who take care of you !!!
