so i miss work to go fishing. Went out from Marina Del Rey on the New Del Mar. fishing was great in the morning. there were  2 3 and 4 pounders landed thats not bad for only 11 anglers. morning jackpot was estimated at about 61/2 pounds. Sorry guys didnt win jack pot but i was trying to be a contender but lost. As for the afternoon bite it was perty slow one big hog did come up, by a first time fisherman, guess on what pole and reel, yeah thats right! on the rent a rod Sand Bass came in at just about 5 pounds. Sorry no pix didnt carry my cam but next time I go i make sure i do.

It always hurts when a first timer with a rent-a-rod pulls in a nice fish and keeps asking everyone "was that a good one"?

Typical. I was out last 4th of July weekend with Capn Mike Thompson on the Amigo and a guy had his daughter along with him....She was a first timer (at least for fishing) and in 24 hours she hauled in a 30+lb halibut, a nice YT and a huge WSB. The ffffing Pacific Slam her first time on the water. I came home with a small sack of bait that RB's buddy's girlfriend wanted to fry up for him......LOL
