I found this article in craigs list I guess the meeting is tonight.  Here is the copy and paste of the post

Stop Them From Banning Fishing In Laguna Beach Tonight! (Laguna Beach, CA)

 

Attention all fishermen!!! Tonight at Aliso Creek Golf Club, off of PCH right across from Aliso Creek Beach (Where the old "Fishing" Pier used to be) there is going to be a public hearing dealing with the city counsel's attempt to ban all fishing in Laguna Beach from the sand all the way out to 3 miles!! This will deeply effect divers, kayak fisherman, surf fishermen, 1/2 day boats from Dana Point Harbor and Newport Harbor, etc... We need to show up and be seen and heard to stop this crazy agenda. We hope to see you there!!! 5:30-8:30pm!!!

I wonder how well tourism would do in Laguna Beach if there was always a threat of shark attacks...

Please don't chum so close to main beach... 

unfortunately it's not about fishing at all...  it's about keeping the undesirables off the beaches...   rich vs. poor and somewhat an ethnic profiling attempt as well... 

ironic that would come from laguna beach of all places....
