Headed out of seaforth around 7pm, went over to point loma for bait. The bait was good, did not roll at all. They were big sardines. We went to the Coronados and anchored for the night and planned on hitting the 425 and surrounding areas at grey light.

Trolled around for a while and didn't get our first hookup until about 8:30am. Double jig strike on the black and purple and yellow/red broomtail. Both troll fish were about 10 pounders, with are lonely baitfish to follow going about 18 pounds.

Found about 8 nice paddies with only one yellowfin coming on a megabait down about 75 ft deep. The meter showed several of the paddies holding but the fish were down deep at an average of 60 ft down.

We got the majority of our fish late in the afternoon after 5 pm with two consecutive double jig strikes with the first coming around 5:30 and the second around 6pm. At this time we were heading towards the islands around the 9.

Just so you know, the fish are out there to be had. All the fish had bellies full of the micro mini macs, and wanted nothing to do with our big sardines. Your best bet would to make mini macs with a sibiki or fish small 4 inch megabaits on the paddies down deep. Hope this helps guys! Tight lines!

Thanks! Ya it was tough pickin out there. There were fish around but it was tough to get them to bite. We found chunk pieces of sardines that we threw on the paddies in the bellies of the baitfish we caught and the one that was caught on the megabait. It you get on a paddy, throw chunks into the water and even try using a chunk piece and throw it in with a little weight to bring it down to where they are. They were sitting about 60 ft under the paddies. They wanted nothing to do with are big horse deans.
