so many bat rays! the average was around 30#. if you used whole squid you were aiming for a smaller bat but if you used a half a mac you were aiming for the heavy hitters. my friend hooked a bat we estimated at 300# w/ wingspan of at least 6 ft easy. also i hooked a 7 ft. lepord, but when i was bringing it up on the pier (by hand because i didnt want to gaff it or hurt it) the line chaffed and it got off..all well though he's there for next time haha. the swells were rather large and the current semi-strong, but still ok. there was a mac attack all day, which is good for bats. overall a good day. what i really need is to get to catalina asap! if you are looking for someone to help, i'm your man. so dont hesitate to p.m. me and get things going! lets go get em'!! -cody
Let's go fish! i bring some $ for bait and food and I will be deckhand and help out. let me know!
