right of the bat the day wasnt going so well. it started drizzling when i got there around 5 a.m.-ish (my normal time). so it was wet and windy, fog and clouds with a really low tide and strong current. the ruby's manager forgot his keys and it took an extra hour before he was able to open the end of the pier. once i got there though i pitched half a mac out, i nested it because i forgot i has the spool tensioner set really loose, but as i reeled it back in, right on the surface there was a nice-sized thresher running at my mac, he hit and took off and started jumping like a bull does! he ran out about 120 yds. since i wasnt expecting a thresher i only had a rig set w/ 40# mono, which after about 15 or so min. he bit right through. after that though the weather continued to suck and there wasnt much biting, not even a single mac =[. towards the end of the day (about 2:30, so i could get ready to go see devo live finally) i hooked a decent 20# bat. overall though the day was blah..but the concert was great!
